R&B diva Beyonce Knowles finally opened up on the notorious episode in the last MTV Video Music Awards where Kanye West stormed the stage during Best Female Video winner Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for You Belong With Me.
“Well, I knew his intentions, and I knew he was standing up for art; and he told me before, when they said the nominees, he’s like, ‘You have this award,’” Knowles said in an interview last Friday during the Billboard Awards where the 28-year-old performer bagged the Woman of the Year award.
Knowles added: “And when he walked on the stage, I was like, ‘No, no, no!’ and then he spoke, and I was like, ‘Oh, no, no, no!’”
Last Sept. 13, West grabbed the microphone from Swift while she was making her speech and West suggested that Swift did not deserve the award, and Knowles I’m A Single Lady (Put a Ring on It) should have won instead because, as West said to a live audience, “Beyonce’s video is one of the best of all time.”

Wow! Beyonce really thinks she created music and art itself. Why couldn’t she just say Kanye was wrong. I’m not a fan of Taylor Swift,but to say her work is not art and hers is, is just ridiculous. I had a feeling something was up with that whole thing. Beyonce’s ego is out of control.

So you didn’t win. How many others that night were told “you have this award” & didn’t get it? VMAs are voted by the Internet public. Kanye should be complaining to THEM. You want an award voted on by fewer judges? Wait for the Grammys.
And Swift’s music isn’t art? Way to be mature about it, Beyonce. Swift’s music is every bit as much a piece of art as yours is & while I thought others should have won over her video, you don’t see me slamming her out of a case of bitter jealous anger. Let it go, Beyonce. You LOST. Stop defending a butthead. You just look like a bitter jealous harpy. You don’t see any other singers or bands wailing about how they didn’t win their awards, do you? Kanye was rude & out of line…and now so are you.
