Closing of space-shuttle program could affect Florida economy

space centerThe announced end of the space-shuttle program by 2010 worries business operators near the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Florida’s “space” coast always enjoys brisk business every time tourists come to the area to witness the space-shuttle launching.

Restaurants and other food-shop owners have expressed their concerns that what has become an attraction boosting their business for so many years will inevitably slow down the influx of people and business once the shuttle program ends.

The Obama administration is still debating on what is next for the space program.
