Olympic gold medalists Evan Lysacek and Nastia Liukin are dating

Evan Lysacek and Nastia Liukin confirmed to People.com that they have been dating since last summer.

“We met a couple of years ago at a gymnastics and skating show,” Liukin says. “We’ve gotten to know each other really well and [are] able to connect because there’s nothing like the Olympics. We both know what it takes to try for the ultimate dream of being an Olympic champion.”

Liukin, 20,  showed her support to Lysacek when she traveled to Vancouver.  She said it was an amazing experience watching her lover’s dream coming true, but admitted she felt nervous.

Lysacek said that Liukin has been very supportive.  He said that having been through the same things he has in the sport is a big help.

“If I’m having a bad day, she tells me to have faith and to keep going,” Lysacek said.  “Sometimes your support system has more faith in you than yourself.”
