New Mexico’s Elizabeth Lambert in unsportsmanlike conduct vs. BYU women’s soccer team

Elizabeth Lambert New MexicoIn the NCAA Women’s Soccer West Conference semifinal game, Elizabeth Lambert of New Mexico played too roughly against BYU.

Physical contact is part of every soccer game, but Lambert seemed to hurt every player that was near her.  She really crossed the line when she pulled the hair of one of the BYU players, snapping her head back in the process.

Maybe Lambert was frustrated that her team was scoreless.

BYU won, 1-0, and advanced to the finals.

Here’s the video of Lambert’s unsportsmanlike conduct:

  1. I got sick watching that video. I am a Lobos fan and Lambert should be kicked off the team and possibly the university. She is an ugly human being and absolutely in need of some serious therapy. In all seriousness, that was beyond shameful.

  2. She ROCKS!

What they did not show you was the cheap shot that started it all. Little blonde chick elbows her in the gut and that’s what set her off. She plays rough and she is a superstar. I’d have her on my team any day.

Love her. Keep it up, girl!

  3. “I feel bad for Heather Lambert. She was just playing a tough game, but nothing malicious. It’s a travesty how she’s being portrayed after that game.”

Chris, are you serious? I have played soccer. That is not “playing a tough game.” That is malicious. You don’t throw someone to the ground by their hair or punch someone’s kidneys. Please, for the sake of all of us, get a clue.

  4. I feel bad for Heather Lambert. She was just playing a tough game, but nothing malicious. It’s a travesty how she’s being portrayed after that game.

  5. This girl needs to be permantly banned from college sports — period. No “I’m so very sorry, this is really out of character of me,” or any of the other typically lame apologies made after incidents like this. She needs to be permantly banned from EVER playing college sport again.

  6. I’m not a soccer fan, but I just saw this on ESPN. My spouse and I can’t believe it. This is outrageous. She should be removed from the team permanently.

  7. That was crazy ugly! I couldn’t believe what I was watching. And she appeared to play the whole game when she should have been sent home (or to prison) immediately.

  8. This chick is a total snot rocket! I really hope New Mexico suspends this crazy girl! She is definitely giving herself (and the school) a bad name. I am sure she will definitely get a payback when she gets on that field again.

  9. She is an insult to the game and a black mark on a fine university. She should be suspended! See how the university will react if next time she pulls a person down like that and she paralyzes them. The girl should apologize for the action and placed in anger management classes. If you cannot control yourself, you should not be allowed to represent the university.

  10. After reviewing this, it’s obvious that Miss Lambert’s parents did an excellent job of raising such a considerate, genteel young woman. Can you give me some parenting tips? I’m looking to raise a criminal. Also, New Mexico University has a great screening process for selecting athletes who make good role models.
