Shaun White, Kim Yu-Na are 2010 Winter Games’ highest-paid athletes with $8M earnings each in 2009

Forbes has compiled a list of the top-earning athletes competing in the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver, Canada.

First on the list is U.S. snowboarder Shaun White, who earned a total of $8 million last year from sponsors like Red Bull, Oakley, Target, Burton, Ubisoft and AT&T.

White shares the top spot with Korean ice-skater Kim Yu-Na, who also earned $8 million in 2009 from various sponsors that include Nike, Samsung and Hyundai Motors.

The top-earning athletes in the 2010 Winter Olympics:

1. Kim Yu-Na – Ice Skating (tie) – $8 million
3. Linsey Vonn – Apine Skiing – $3 million
4. Ted Ligety – Alpine Skiing – $2 million

6. Bode Miller – Alpine Skiing – $1.3 million
7. Gretchen Bleiler – Snowboard (tie) – $1 million
7. Lindsey Jacobellis – Snowboard (tie) – $1 million
7. Hannah Teter – Snowboard (tie) – $1 million
7. Maria Riesch – Alpine Skiing (tie) – $1 million
