Facebook and Twitter beat MySpace in the web traffic wars


myspace-logoIt looks like MySpace will not get all the $900 million in the deal it inked with Google in 2006.

MySpace is losing too much traffic because of the competition from Facebook and Twitter.  It is not clear how much of the $900 million MySpace will get, but in Wednesday’s News Corp. earnings call, chairman Rupert Murdoch appeared to suggest $300 million.

It might actually be closer to $100 million for the year.

A few years back, MySpace was the most popular social media, but its popularity has fallen with the creation of Facebook and Twitter.
